I am very alarmed at this new program as not enough time has been given to true researchers of this switch.
I have on ancestry/rootsweb records with over 13500 individuals that has taken me years to compile. Tons of research and contacts. Now they want me to pay them, when I know people will be paying them just to see my files???? I do not think so.
I have spent many pennies at ancestry.com accessing records and ordering CDs. They can 't even give us, the ones who did all the work some kind of break?? Figures...money is the bottom line isn't it.
What bothers me is that there are many out there who have copied my file research notes and remarks WORD FOR WORD. Also, I paste in emails when I get more info from direct descendants of individuals in my files. Others out there have even copied the emails and pasted in their files!! The emails start out...Dear Susan... they even place that in their files.
I rarely search for people who I have in my files as when I do find other reports 95% of the time there is my info..copied and pasted into these pirates reports. No mention of me. At least when I have borrowed info, I rewrite it in my own words and give credit to the researcher and include their email addresss/webpage, etc.

So off I go to delete files. Sad, but not feeling right about this One World pay service.
