DONALD JONES

Donald E. Jones, 70, of Perry Grove, Ark, formerly of Independence, died Tuesday (Jan. 2, 2000) at the Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, Ark.

Mr. Jones was born Sept. 19, 1930, at Matoon, Ill. to William Jones and Essie (Lawhorn) Jones. He grew up and attended schools at Illinois and later moved to Hatch, New Mexico.

He married Catherine E. Hedges in Oct. of 1050. He later moved to Elfrida, Ariz., where he lived for 20 years before moving to Independence in 1975. While living at Independence, he worked for Emerson Electric. He moved to Perry Grove, Ark. in 1977.

Survivors include three daughters, Rosella K. Jones of Douglas, Ariz., Charlotte Heldstab of Normal, Ill., Carolyn Kelley of Peoris, Ariz.; two sons, Marvin Jones of West Fork, Ark., Ralph Jones of Grand Canyon, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Jones. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel.

Friends may gather at the cemetery prior to the service.
