Catherine O'DONNELL and John LAWLER were my maternal great great grandparents.
This is what I know about them so far:
John LAWLER was transported as a convict (7 year sentence) from Cork, Ireland to New South Wales, Australia in 1828 onboard the "Borodino". He was 21. His wife, Catherine O'DONNELL, was transported as a convict (14 year sentence) from Portsmouth, England to New South Wales, Australia in 1833 onboard the "Buffalo". She was 18.
I am yet to uncover their 'crimes'. They were granted permission to marry and were wed in 1836 at St James' Church of England, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
John Lawler's father was Patrick LAWLER, originating from the Queens County (Laois) area of Ireland. His mother was Julia BYRNE.
Apparently, Catherine O'DONNELL was originally from County Cork.
