I know this is a longshot, but Oh well. I am searching for info on my maternal grandmothers natural father. I have been told that his last name was Akins, pos. Atkins. He would have been in Nashville Tn around mid to late Sept. of 1920. The family legend is that he was married to someone else at the time my young great-grandmother became pregnant with my grandmother. My G.grandmother pointed him out to my grandmother one day, saying "See, he wears gold coins for buttons?" He was suppose to be Irish.
Does this ring any bells for anyone?
