I have been reasearching my family for 18 years and have acquired alot of information dating back to 1732 with the help mostly from a cousin in St. Albans, WV. My father was Dorsey Clarence Ratliff nicknamed Sog by his grandfather.Although I never knew them, my grandparents were John Henry and America Hackney Ratliff (who were second cousins). My parents never married which has been quite an obstacle when locating family members. Unfortunately there is an old taboo about children from unwed parents that literally turns us into lepers. We do not choose our parents, yet seem to be the blame for their mistakes. If "relatives" can just get over it I would like to hear from anyone who might think they may be linked to the roots I have stated.
