Sumter Co. Daniel Greene b. prob. 1793 So. Car. (Greenville Dist.) buried Parker Cemetary died Aug. 21 1842. His wife was Stacy Greene; they're mentioned in copy of old letter and it implies that they are parents of James McCown Greene and Elizabeth Harriett Greene (bro and sister). Elizabeth was born 1817 So. Car. and married James McCown born 1808 Tenn.; after his death she married his brother Sampson McCown; she and her husbands in Tx.; after Sampson's death she married a Capt. Fortson ,La. and died there. Apparently her and her brother James McCown Greene's mother was a McCown? There's a baby girl buried Parker Cem. Mattie Floyd of McDuffie and Mattie Greene and 2 daughters of Daniel and Stacy, Pamelia Ann(died 16 yrs.-)and Sue(died 17 yrs-in 1851 and it states she's Daniel and Stacy's youngest daughter. There's a Charlotte McCown died 1840 and names near them are Brown; Killen; Mitchell and Parker.??? Have searched and searched for parents/lineage of Elizabeth Harriett Greene(believe there's Indian blood there also)- have found it w/ another grgrgrmo- Daddy'd mentioned "2 tribes" YEARS ago???Had no idea they were in Sumter Co.; letter states they had relatives at Etowah and Pickinsville- so I got my query in at Etowah. Looked in Sumter Co. book just for the "heck" of it after a book inter-library loan had ordered had nothing I was looking for. Now you tell me Someone's not looking over us. Frances
