William Walker served for American during the War of 1812. He was a white man captured by the Delaware about 1781. At Detroit Adam Brown purchased Walker from the Delaware. Walker married Miss Catharine Rankin daughter of James Rankin and a Wyandotte woman. The Draper Papers, Wisconsin Historical Society, Series U, Volume 11-12. Chief William Walker was the first Provisional Governor of the Territorial Legislature of Kansas.
