I am trying to determine whether the Morris Barnes who was b abt 1784, operated the ferry between Sherman and Redding in 1850, and d Dec 7 1861 is the son of Stephen Barnes and Ann Phinney or another Barnes family. He is living next door to William (b abt 1775) and Susannah in 1850.
There is another Morris Anson Barnes who by family lore is supposed to be Stephen and Ann's son. He married Charity Proper and lived in the northeast part of Dutchess County and died abt 1840.
Documents would be appreciated.
