What happened to the Knadler children in 1898

Classification: Query
Surnames: Knadler Thornburg
My second great grandmother Alice Thornburg Knadler, died in Keedysville, MD in 1898, she left a husband William Henry Knadler (d 1909) and four very small daughters; Geneva 13, Mary 8, Erma 6 and Naomi 2. I would assume a family member took the family in.

I can not find any of the girls or William in the 1900 census. I have looked at Keedyville 1900 census page by page. I looked at the Boonsboro census page by page (home of Williams father Mahlon Knadler) I have looked at every sibling of William and Alice to see if the girls were with them.

I can't find anything. Two of the girls, Naomi and Mary eventually end up in Baltimore City. Geneva moves to W Virginia and Erma stays in Keedysville.

I'm not sure where else to look for them.

Any help would be appreciated
