Can anyone help me clarify a vague memory I have of a fire explosion that occurred in perhaps Wyandotte or Dearborn in Wayne County sometime around 1970 or 1971? I was a young child at the time, and remember seeing it from our home at night. I believe the fire occurred in or near a gas storage facility and I think it was a couple of large containers that exploded. The fire seemed very large (although I was just a child, and would have had a child's perspective) and I think it was visible from quite a distance. All of this is based on an almost 35-year-old memory, but I'm hoping that someone on this list might remember more details that I could use to help place this memory in the right time frame/location.
