Slave ancestors sold to Patterson family of Robertson County, Tennessee.
Received from George C. Conrad five hundred dollars for which I have sold and hereby convey to said Conrad one fourth part of the following negroes to wit: Charles a man about thirty years old, Cherry a woman about thirty years of age and her four children and all their increase. Which negroes are now in possession of Mary patterson in which negroes she has a life estate, and at her death, by deed of gift to wife and myself executed by Polly Patterson, John C. Patterson, Benjamin Patterson and Robert C. Patterson. I have a good right and title to said negroes, and for the above consideration I have hereby bargained and sold to said Conrad all my interest in said negroes and hereby warrant the right and title to be good to the said George C. Conrad his heirs and assigns forever, and also warrant them to be sound, healthy, sensible and slaves for life and should this not be a good and valid conveyance I bind myself my heirs and assigns hereafter when called on to make such and better title as will make right and title good and valid to said Conrad or his heirs to the one fourth part of the before mentioned negroes. Witness my hand and seal December the 8th 1848

How do I go about finding my Slave grandparents Charles and Cherry? All I have is this sales document for them and the fact that they were property of the patterson family of Robertson, County, Tennessee. Charles abt: 1818 and Cherry also abt:1818. Is there a slave manifest link somewhere that will assist me in locating them? Any and all assistance will be helpful. Thanking anyone and everyone in advance.
