Bobby Joe Beard Sr., 61, of Green County, Ky., died on Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at his home. Son of Catherine Curry Beard of Greensburg and the late Opal Beard, he was born on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1942, in Green County and was a member of Liletown United Methodist Church. Beard was an employee of Campbellsville Industries and a farmer. He married Rebecca Jean London on July 15, 1961. She survives. Others survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bengal Bagby of Green County; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Joe Jr. and Lynn Beard and Billy Joe and Tina Beard, all of Green County; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Jerry Lawler of Green County; and six grandchildren, Brandon Bagby, Brianne Bagby, Candice Beard, Kelsea Beard, Catlin Beard and Clayton Beard, all of Green County. Funeral was on Saturday, April 3 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in the Curry Family Cemetery. Bros. Dennis Crump and Meryl Young officiated. Pallbearers were Grady Thompson, Kurt Jeffries, Meryl Young, Larry Beard, Jimmy Wilcoxson and Roy Parson. Honorary pallbearers were Billy London, Junior Jessie, Tommy Thompson, Ken Ferguson, Robbie Bass, Mitchell London, Eddie Jessie, Johnny Beard, Burr Hearon, Ken Jolly, Ray London, Clifton Thompson, Louie Lyle, Ricky Woorley and Joe Houk. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Kentucky or Gideon Bibles.
