The rightmost column of the Hancock county 1800 census appears to be a location. Does anyone know the significance of this column? Specifically, I am looking at Caleb Dodge (transcripted as Cabb Dodge) in Kendeskeag, Hancock, Maine and his column says "Derry". Where might Derry reference? I believe the family had been in the US for several generations so I don't think it would refer to Ireland.
