My gr-grandfather was Michael Meany, born 1828 in Ireland and homesteaded at Woodburn in Clarke County, Iowa in 1858. He and his family are listed in 1860 US Census at Liberty Twsp, Clarke Co., Iowa on page 52, Dwelling #364, Family #356. Listed next to him in Dwelling #365 is the family of Timothy Meany, born 1824 in Ireland. I know (or thought I knew) almost everything there is to know about Michael Meany family. But neither I nor anybody else in my family has ever heard of Timothy Meany - and they must have been related (same surname and both from Ireland). My Iowa 1870 US Census Index does not include either Michael or Timothy. Can anybody point me to information on the Timothy Meany family? Meany, many thanks, J Holden
