For years I have looked for the first marriage of my great great grandmother, Catharine Hutchinson born 1834 in West Troy or Watervliet. I suspect she married a Robert Whitmarsh since I have found her back with her parents on the 1870 West Troy census as Catharine Whitmarsh with child and no husband.

There is a Catharine Whitmarsh (of the right age for Catharine Hutchinson) living near her parents on the 1855 and 1860 census married to Robert Whitmarsh, but it is only circumstantial evidence.

I have no proof! Are there marriage records for the period 1855-1863?
