This link is to a transcription of the will of Mary Cox, who died before Oct 1836. She lists the following children: Isaac, Olive, Mary, Jane, David, Harmon and Hannah. It was witnessed by a Malcom McNeal.

First, is the son David the one that married Nancy McNeill/McNeal. Second, who is Malcom McNeal and is he at all related to Nancy?

David Cox (b. 1799) and Nancy McNeill/McNeal (abt 1810-1879) had the following children: Edmond, Mary, Harmon, Sarah, John, Margaret, Olive, Hannah and Isaac. Many of these names are siblings of the David mentioned in the will above. I have determined that Nancy McNeill was the sister to John, Hector and Margaret McNeill, all of Yancey Co. I descend from Hector through his son Archibald that married 1. Jane Howell and 2. Sarah Ann Sparks.

I am trying to determine the McNeill ancestry and wondered how Malcom may fit into the picture. I am also trying to establish descendants of any McNeills in the Yancey/Mitchell Co area. Would love to correspond with anyone on these families.
