My great grandmother, born Elizabeth Johns(t)on(e), born 15 February 1882 in Finch, Ontario, Canada.Parents- Thomas Johnson, Sarah Alguire.
Married Elmer Royal Storie in Sep. 1903, Watertown, NY,USA. Probably came to US illegally, as she does not show up in any immigration records.
They had 5 children.
She is is census records and business directories until 1920.
In 1920, she is shown in the Watertown, NY census, living in a boarding house alone. Elmer has the children. This is the last known location for her. Interestingly, there is a single man, Ernest Huddleson, just 3 years older than her and from Ontario, Canada, living in the same boarding house.
1n 1925, Elmer filed for divorce.
It is my suspicion that she ran off with someone else. Whether she/they stayed in US, or went back to Canada is anyones guess. A thorough search of Jefferson county this week, shows nothing for her.
I will take any and all advice on where to go from here. Search surrounding counties for death records?
Her family says they had no contact from her after 1919.
I am becoming obsessed with this, lol, but it would be nice to be able to tell my elderly mom and her sister, that I know what happened to her!
