Hello dpippy:
You can see info about Peter and Annie on the website of Manitoba Vital Statistics. Check the database index search for marriage of Peter and Annie, deaths of each (Peter in 1929 and Annie in 1938) and births for Marguerite Geer, 1907.
I found newspaper articles that said Peter, age 70 in 1929, had disappeared from his home at 428 Elgin Avenue, where he "lived alone". This had been his home for 20 years. His daughter, a teacher, and his sister were looking for him. An item the next day, July 10, said he had last been seen by neighbours on July 2, when he looked as if he was going downtown. He was wearing a brown suit and brown felt hat, was 5' 4" tall, had blue eyes and grey hair, and his left leg was slightly lame.
An item two days later, July 12, said a body taken from the Red River at Selkirk (a town north of Winnipeg) had been identified by his wife as Peter Geer, 71.
I tried to find obituaries in the Winnipeg Free Press for both Annie and Peter, but none came up on the newspaper database. This seems odd.
You will see that the Vital Stats marriage listing shows Annie's surname as Beane. But please remember that there are sometimes spelling errors in the records and it could possible be Bean.
I couldn't find any further info about Marguerite. Peter's second name appears to be Andrew.
Kind regards, Bonnie
