Joseph A. Italiano, 91,
a resident of Hempfield Manor,
formerly of Jeannette,
passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013.
He was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Milwaukee, Wis.,
a son of the late Frank and Pauline Cambria Italiano. Prior to his retirement, Joe was employed by the Helms Trucking Co. in North Huntingdon.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Navy. Joe was a member of the Ascension Church, the M and S Club and a former member of its bocce league In addition to his parents,
Joe was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Nakich Italiano, in 2004; and four brothers, Frank, Domenic and John Lampone and Peter Italiano. He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia McHugh and husband, Kevin, of Greensburg; two grandsons, Michael and Ryan McHugh; a sister, Nancy Fonger, of Twila, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Hempfield Manor nurses and staff for the exceptional care that Joe received during his time there. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A blessing service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
