In response to your offer of information about the gladdens. I have my gladdens back to TN - but unable to confirm who they were in NC. Who are the early gladdens on your side?

Just got information that my Robert G. Gladden was born in monroe Co., TN abt 1826. There was a litleton gladdon there on 1830 census. Anyone know of him or related to him?

Betty, thanks for the information. Sarah Gladden had five other brothers and sisters born in Lincoln County too. Her Grandfather was Joseph Gladden married to Mary Arthur. Sarah's siblings were: John b. 20Dec1797, Joseph b. 1801, Wm., b. 1804, Cinthy, b. 1805, Aaron b. 1809, Samuel b. 1815. All births and deaths are in LincolnCo., NC. SADLY, none of these Gladdens are of my Gladden family...not that I can trace at any rate! Thanks,
John

Littleton Gladden is my GGGGGGrandfather. He is also found in the 1800 Fairfield Co. SC census, where his son James was born. The direct line to me is Littleton, James, William, Thomas, Zachary, Jake, etc. The family moved from Fairfield Co. SC to Monroe Co. TN to Graham Co. NC to McDowell Co. NC. Email me if you would like more information.

Gladdens from sc to tn to nc
Tim, Thanks for answering my posting. I was aware of Littleton Gladden in the SC family, and followed your posting of him to TN to take advantage of Indian lands. My relative is related, I am sure...but don't know how and where. Robert G. Gladden was born in Monroe County TN abt1827. He does not show up in the 1830 census, but Littleton Gladden does. Do you find a Robert or Robert G. of that age range in your Gladdens moving on to NC? I know that Robert G is my relative, having traced him back from now to his birth and military service in the Civil War. If he stayed in TN, then Robert G. may be the son of either a William or William W. on the 1830 census. No proof though. Do you have a Robert or Robert G. in any of your group that went on to NC? Thanks!
