Anyone here a direct maternal descendant of Anne Philip? If so, do you know your mtDNA haplogroup? Or want to find out...

Several public trees show Anne Philip as a daughter of Metacom (King Philip). Metacom led a coalition of Native Americans in King Phili[p's War (1675-76).

Anne Philip claimed to be Metacom's daughter...but repudiated this, apparently under pressure from the church.

Anne had two daughters and her daughters each had several daughters. It's likely the maternal line persisted (although I haven't traced any descents).

The mtDNA, given accurate genealogy would confirm Native American descent.
