Thru DNA testing we have discovered one of our Canter males born about 1820 >< in or near Wilkes Cty, N.C. is a perfect match for Lawson Hampton of Carter Cty, Tennessee. It is quite obvious that a Hampton male was a contributor in this lineage. My suspicion points to a Johnson Hampton who resided in Wilkes during the years in question very near the CANTER household. The Canter who's DNA matches the Hamptons is Green Aaron Canter. for many years until the DNA testing, he was presumed the son of James M Canter and Elizabeth Duncan. Any help proving or disproving this parentage would be truly appreciated.
