John Douglas Smith  B.1802  Married Mary Frances Singleton Dec. 8, 1824Brunswick Cnty. Va. They left the home of his parents in the part of OrangeCnty. that is now  Culpepper Cnty  traveled thru the Carolinas to Paris Landing Tenn.  Then to Holly Springs , Ms. Then to Vaiden, Ms then to Hemingway , Ms.  They had 10 children who were;;;;;;;Martha Ann 1825-? Married Sam Chew, Mary Emily 1827-1 Married Nathaniel Wells it is believed these two were born in Va.-- Ella Francis 1829-1881 Married Jefferson George Pate, James Henry  1833-1896  Mary Jane McClellan , Ariana Adeline 1835-?
Married  William Warder Young ,  These three born at Paris Landing Tenn. William Randolph 1836-1900  Married Sally Purnell,  Emmartetta Cook  1837-1934 Married William F. Walker, Octavia Davis  1839--?  Married William Douglas
Hughes, John Douglas Jr 1840-? Married Fannie Wells, Narcissus (Narcis) 1843--? Married Married Dallas Peavey, These last five born in Miss.     Both John Douglas and Mary Francis are both buried in the Smith Family Cematary Rose Hill on The old Clifton Plantation  out from Greenwood Miss..  This  one family is spread all over the world and has no telling how many other branches IF you wish more info I have a Smith Webb site on this family 10 or 12 pages.
