I am the gggrandson of Philip Wile b.1809 d.1870 and Martha Monn b.1810 d.1871 who are buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mont Alto, Franklin County. I understand that most of the settlers in the Mont Alto and Quincy area of Franklin County crossed over South Mountain from York and Adams Co., and that Philip and possibly his brother Jacob were among the early settlers of Mont Alto. I also understand that my Wile line arrived from Hamburg, Germany through the Port of Philadelphia. I am trying to determine if Philip Wile or his parents were born or lived in York County prior to their arrival in Mont Alto (Funkstown).
