I have located a removal order (1820) from St. Giles Cambridge to Saffron Walden the women there was then a Bastardy Order in Saffron Walden against the father(Who is named)of the unborn child, so far all makes sense.

Then on a Bastardy Order three (3) males (not rellatedas far as I can tell enter into a bond for the the child with the payment of one hundred pounds.

Can anyone explain or suggest why three persons would enter into such a condition.
