While on my trek to Taliaferro County last year, I copied from the Taliaferro Historical Society two letters dated 1883, addressed to John Robert Moore from his nephew Willis E Moore of Boone County Illinois.

Willis E Moored was born about 1865 according to the 1880 census of Boone County Illinois. This same census has his father as Ezekiel Moore, born 1827 in Virginia.

They are both very charming letters and give some insight of the life and hardships of the period, I have attached them to this post. Also, I think it's safe to say that J.R. Moore had an older brother named Ezekiel.
