Hi! I'm a descendant of Peter Lawson (born 1737) and Agnes Key, and I wanted to find more information about them - where they were born, died, and who their parents were. I'm trying to trace the Lawson line as far back as possible, perhaps even to the original Scottish Clan (which I believe would be MacLaren, but I've found disputing information about this).

I know a lot about the generations proceeding them because of earlier family research. They had a son called Patrick "Lasson" in 1757, who married Anne Grant, and I could go on all day because the family tree on that side is HUGE. But I'd like to know more about Peter and Agnes and the generations before them... again, as far back as possible.

Does anyone have any information, and/or tips on how I can find it?

ETA: I forgot to add that at least after Patrick Lasson/Lawson, most of the Lawsons lived in Coupar Angus, Scotland (and all surrounding areas). I'm not sure if that was true for Peter and Patrick as well, but that might be a clue?
