My DNA results showed I am in the H5 (Helena) group. From reading it means my maternal mitocondrial DNA came from this purely European group that is concentrated in Europe from around Ethiopia and migrated all over Europe. My maternal names are Jarvis, Smith, Phillips, Bessonett. Bessonett maybe had a mother with the name of O'Mara (?) she is from Dublin Ireland. Further back I cannot go. But I would be interested in corresponding with anyone from the same Haplogroup sub group. I live in Sydney, Australia, and my ancestor Elinor Bessonett was transported from Dublin Ireland in 1821. But "Bessonett" does not seem to be an Irish name, so maybe her name was "Basnett". The spelling is variable of course. She was the only person of that name in Australia. My markers are 16, 304-- C, 263-- G, 315 --CC. 456--T, 505 -- T, 523 --del, 524 --del. I believe there were more "exotic" ethnic groups in my genes, but from the paternal linkage.
