the story i was told about my father's adoption circumstances was that he was the 6th or 7th child and the family was too poor to keep him. my research shows no large families by the name of Christie in Topeka around 1940. The census shows and Adam and Francis residing in Topeka with their 2 children Donald M and Francis M. (my father's name is Donald and supposedly his birth parents did name him.)
Any one who can confirm that Adam and Frances Christie had only the two listed children would be greatly appreciated.
