I'm looking for the family of Rosannah Barnes of Virginia, who married in Vigo County, Indiana,August 13, 1857, my 4th great-grandfather, Henry Franklin Smith. This was his second marriage. I have no birth date for her; she died November, 1865 in Terre Haute. There is, in the 1850 census, a Rosannah Barnes (age 18) living in the household of Jacob Swisher (Jefferson, Clinton County, Ohio); also is listed an Ellen Barnes (age 8) and John Barnes (age 40), both born in Virginia. I would be interested to find out if anybody has any knowledge of this family. I have been unable to locate the Barnes or Swisher families in the 1860 census, as of yet.
