On the marriage certificate of Richard Chandler (b 1848) and Jane Keele (b 1844), married 1867 in Ichin Stoke, Southampton, the bride's father is listed simply as 'Millins' and no occupation given. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether this Millins would be a surname, and if so why would a spinster have a different name to her father? Is it likely she was illigitimate? Any ideas anyone? (Could Millins be a christian name?)
