Hi I am Bill Taylor & I am primarily looking for the above names and especially the parents of my GGG Grandpa GEORGE TAYLOR b.1802-05 possibly in Lincoln co. Ky. I think his father c/b a JOHN,WILLIAM,GEORGE,OR SAMUEL TAYLOR. GEORGE married a JANE ANN (JENNY)PORTER (D/O SAMUEL PORTER SR. OF BOTETORT CO. VA./CASEY CO. KY. GEORGE was married in 1/22/1824 in Casey co. and lived on the Little South Rolling Fork of the North Rolling Fork on the Sulphur Branch in Northern Casey co. KY. Their kids were: 1. ELLEN TAYLOR b.1825 and married WILLIAM LANE (S/O MATTHEW LANE),2. My GG Grandpa SAMUEL L. TAYLOR b.1827 and married AMANDA COOLEY (D/O REUBIN COOLEY JR.OR #2 OF MARION CO. KY ON THE REUBIN COOLEY BRANCH). 3. JOHN TAYLOR b.1832 and married MILDRED (MILLY)WEATHERFORD (D/O JESSE W. OFCASEY CO. KY) 4. SARAH A. TAYLOR b. 1834 5. EASOM (ESONE)TAYLOR b. 1840 and married 1st SARAH J. EARLS (D/O JAMES EARLS JR. OF CASEY) and 2nd MARY JANE CANTRELL OF ILLINOIS, 6. WILLIAM M. TAYLOR b.1842 and married 1st MARY E. POINDEXTER OF TENN. and 2nd ELIZABETH (LIZZIE)CONDER OF CASEY, 7. MARY FRANCIS TAYLOR b. 1847 and married a JAMES A. SMITH. George left in 1847 to check on a relative in the Mexican War and was killed as a War Prisioner. George was one of 3 brothers to come to KY from VA. and one brother was married. I think George's mother c/b part native american probably Cherokee. Does anyone know how I can check to see what unit he could have been with or when or where he died and where his remains are buried? I have researched 7 Taylor lines in Central KY and will reciprocate info. Any assistance is greatly appreciated
