I'm looking for any connection (if there is one) between a Capt. John Berry, later Sir John Berry, b. 1635, d. 1689/90, Portsmouth, England, who was well known for intervening on behalf of settlers in Newfoundland, and a Capt. John Berry, b. 1618, d. 1715, New Jersey. The latter was a wealthy landowner, interim NJ governor. Both John Berrys (Berries?) were in Barbados in the 1660s. They're NOT the same person, but they may have been related. Any help appreciated!
