Richard A. Fairchild, 68, RR 6, Decatur, father of a Portland resident, died Sunday morning at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

A native of Adams County, he was a farmer and was retired from Central Soya.

Surviving are his wife, Donna; three daughters, including Mrs. Fred (Velma) Manor, Portland; two sisters; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Services are set for 10:30 am Wednesday in the Haggard and Armes Funeral Home, Decatur, with Robert Able officiating. Burial will be in Tricker Cemetery there.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Decatur American Legion Post.
