Trying to locate place of origin of my great-grandfather, Jozef Burzynski. According to family lore he is supposedly from Prussia or Poznan area, possibly from Wagrowiec area or nearby. He was born circa March, 1869. The illegitimate child of Lucia. No brothers or sisters. He served in the Prussian army and emigrated to the United States, to South Chicago, Illinois around 1889. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in South Chicago and married Aniela Szturma in 1891. His mother Lucia followed him to the U.S. in 1893. Died in Chicago in 1938. Had a good friend, Michael Madaj in Chicago who was supposedly from same town in Poland. May have had other relations at Immaculate Conception Church. Surnames of supposed relatives may be Paczesny, Wegner, Swiecikowski, Nowaczyk and Kleparek.
