My 3-great grandfather was James Ransom Plummer (1797-1858). He was the son of William Plummer and his wife, Elizabeth Jones Ransom (c 1770-1814). Elizabeth Jones Ransom was the daughter of James Ransom (c 1735 - ?) and his wife, Pricilla Jones Macon Ransom (widow of Gideon Macon). James Ransom was the son of Richard Ransom (c 1700-c 1748) and his wife, Frances Hicks (daughter of Capt. Robert Hicks). I believe Richard Ransom was the son of George Ransom, who was the son of Capt. James Ransom (1640-after 1704) of Gloucester Co, VA. I believe that Capt. James Ransom was the son of Peter Ransom (1615-?) the immigrant, who was born in England and died in Virginia.
