How many of you know about the Rev. Joseph Camp homeplace in Cleveland County, N.C.
which is still standing. It is a 3-story brick house, located off Brick House Road (surely
named after the house itself) about 2 miles off Hwy. 18, just a couple miles or less north of the S.C./N.C. state line. This house is believed to have been built during the Revolutionary War period, exact date uncertain. But it is approx. 225 yrs old.

I visited it on Friday, Jan. 26, and although it was in very poor condition inside, the outside walls still appear to be fairly solid and this house could be saved. It is not in Camp family ownership however, and the current property owners (it sits inside a pasture fence) do not appear interested in having it preserved. It would be a shame to let it fall in. To those of you who are interested and live close enough, it is certainly worth the trip to Cleveland County to see.
