I have been in contact with an individual in Eisenach Germany who did research on the FLAUDING families who settled in Jay County Ind.This researcher of mine investigated the church records in Mohra Germany and found that they spelled their name FLADUNG.Results: Johann Elias Fladung born 13.5.1812 and Marthe Elizabeth Gurtler, born 2.12.1808, were married on 19.5.1834. Their children are: 1. No name born24.11.1834;2) Gertrud 19.11.1834 dy+;3) Johann Heinrich 16.2.1838; 4)Wilhelm 24.10.1840+30.10.1840;5)Johannes 18.10.1841;6) Elisabeth1.8.1844;7) two girls, Eva Katharina, Gertrude,+1847and 9) Jophann Georg 9.8.1848. Johann and all his family is gone to America in August 1851.Also in the book Johann Valentin Fladung born 18.9.1838 is the son of Georg Andreas Fladung and Barbara Elisabetha (Schmidt).
