WM. R. CANTER
William Robert Canter was born in Middlebrook, Mo., on May 16, 1875, and died at his home in Knob Lick, Sunday, April 7, 1957, aged 81 years 10 months 21 days.
He was married on September 9, 1906, to Elizabeth Barnes, and they were the parents of seven children, two sons, Herschel and Lester, having preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife and five children: Opal (Mrs. Monroe Kinney) and Robert Lee Canter of Knob Lick; Vernon Canter of St. Louis; George Willis Canter of Illinois; and Barbara Ellen (Mrs. William Eaton) of Galveston, Texas. Twenty-five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Andrew Canter of Ironton Route and Edward Canter of Bonne Terre, and two sisters, Mrs. Melvina Durich of Ste. Genevieve and Mrs. Mary Ruse of Fredericktown, also mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist Church in Knob Lick, and burial was in the Knob Lick Cemetery. Cozean Service.
