Wondered if anyone knows if there are any Ainslie's left on the island? My fathers (Harold Ainslie) sister was living on the island as of a year or so ago( Rita Stack) her husband Fred died some years ago. They had a son named Jim who was up there the last I knew. Anyway when my Ainslie's came to the Island they eventually lived in a stone 2 floor house. From what I understand for many years, a couple from the U.S. bought the house, for a summer place. On the property was a deeded cemetery. Where my G.G. Grandpa James & Bridget Ainslie.are buried. Anyone out there if this sounds familiar to you. Give me a e-mail. Pat Thorpe (Michigan)

I am the granddaughter of Isabelle Ainslie - Long. As to you inquiry if there are any of the Ainslie's left on the Island, there are. Leon & Anne Ainslie are still in Elizabeth Bay as well and Jim Stack (Rita Ainslie's son). Martin Ainslie is there as well, he is the son of Leon Ainslie. My grandparents had the white farm house that is NW of the Ainslie Homestead, and now my parents own it. My grandmother, Isabelle Ainslie passed away on August 1, 1996.

I am the grandson of Thomas Ainslie and son of Margaret Ainslie Heffelfinger. My mother and Isabelle were cousins and remained in contact over the years. As a child, I stayed in the white farmhouse numerous times while visiting with my parents. Your grandparents would always stay at my parents home when they were traveling to and from Florida.
It has been many years since I have been in Elizabeth Bay and my wife and I would like to travel there this summer. The last time I was there, your grandmother directed me to the old stonehouse and told me how to get to the graves of James and Bridgette. Is there anyone in Elizabeth Bay that could do the same for me know?
You might be interested to know that we have oil paintings and a couple of beautiful tapestries made by "Toots" in our home.
Any information you might provide will be welcome.
Thank you,
Ron Heffelfinger
