I see messages from cousins Mike Nancy regariding Dr. John J. Grinstead. ANY help on him would be appreciated. According to the 1850.1860, 1870 census (the only ones I have found him on so far) he was born circa 1820's in Virgina. He married 1) Emily Richard Sharp circa 1839/40 in probably Bath County, Kentucky (Sharpsburg, Bath County, KY is named for Emily's grandfather, Moses Sharp). They divorced not long after my 2 great grandfather, Walter Bishop Grindstead was born [1842] in Bath County, KY. He moved to Missouri where he married Susan Jane Ashby in Henry County, Missouri in 1849. On the 1860 Missouri Census they have a son, John S. about 2 yrs old. Don't know what happened to Susan or that son. In 1864 he maried Louisa Filed in Hempstead, Arkansas, they settled in Keytesville, Chariton County, Missori after the Civil War ( he was a surgeon for the 3rd Missouri Militia) where they had seven children. Cannot seem to find when he died tho ro who his parents were, etc. Again, ANY help would be appreciated.
