Please help me sort this out! Coleman S. Clark, Sr. (1833-1863) bought land in Dale County, AL, in 1858. He is believed to have married Ann(e) Martin (c. 1830s-1876). They are believed to have had three children: Eugenia J., James Henry (my ggrandfather), and Coleman, Jr. The senior Mr. Clark died young when the children were 5, 3, and 1 years old. Our family believes that the widow went back to live with her family (place unknown, but possibly Crenshaw Co., AL). If unsubstantiated Bible notes are correct, the widow then died on May 14, 1876 when the children were 18, 16, and 14, and it seems likely they would have been raised to adulthood by their mother's (Martin?) relatives. When the children were grown, Eugenia Clark married a Collins; James Henry Clark married Sarah Frances Yon and bought land in Dale County, AL, in 1884 from James and Mary Martin (maternal relatives?); and Coleman (Coley) Clark, Jr., married Delula Askew and bought land in Dale County, AL, from the Federal government in 1891.

Can anyone confirm the identity of Ann(e) (Martin?) Clark and James and Mary Martin, as well as their relationship to the Clarks?
