I am researching my great grandfather, Phil George Becker of Fort Worth, Texas. What I know of him is drawn from family stories. Phil G. Becker was born 13 Jun 1863 in Germany - parents unknown. He died at age 83 on 10 Nov 1946 in Fort Worth and is interned at Oakwood Cemetery.
Family stories indicate that he immigrated to the United States from Germany circa 1866 as a small child along with his brother Henry (Hendric?, Hendrick?). At age 21 (circa 1884) Phil G. Becker arrived in Fort Worth after spending time in the Kansas City area. It is believed that his brother Henry remained in the New York vicinity.
Phil G. Becker was a barber by profession and owed a barber and bath shop at 703 Main Street in Fort Worth for many years. He was a member of both the Masonic lodge of Fort Worth and a member of the Fort Worth Knights of Pythias lodge. Phil G. Becker married Elizabeth T. Kohler (b.1870 d. 1926) in Fort Worth on 2 Jan 1894. They raised two children: Phil G. Becker, Jr. and Hazel Elizabeth Becker, both long time Fort Worth residents. In 1930 Phil G. Becker married Ruth Watkins in Fort Worth becoming step-father to her two sons James T. and Lovis D. Watkins.
Any information, historical documentation, or photos pertaining to Phil G. Becker and his family, or suggestions for further research are greatly appreciated.
