Really trying to round out my family, who split with the great post famine diaspora in Ireland. I have tracked down various brothers of my great grandfather to various corners of the world, but James has eluded me!

James Grant was born in 1857 (from family bible) in Ireland, the son of Stephen Grant and Mary Ann (nee Piper)

He went to Australia probably in 1881

James is believed to have had a son Charles )who worked in a bank in Sydney) plus 4 other children in Sydney.

That is the total of knowledge I have garnered from letters he sent back home to Ireland.

(I do know that he is not connected with descendants of John Grant the convict shipped to Australia in 1811. I also know he had a brother Richard, who I have tracked down to QLD)
