Does anyone have any information about the "Milan Herald" newspaper? Is it still in existence? According to the 1870 Census, my great grandfather, James Steven Graham, was the Jr. Editor of the "Milan Herald" at that time. He and his wife Savinia Graham, nee. Swanger, moved to Milan, MO from Mifflin Co. PA about 1860. They had 9 children including my grandmother, Mary Ellen "Mollie" Graham, born 1866 in Milan. Their last child was born in Milan on Dec. 24, 1871.

Savinia Swanger was born Nov. 28, 1831 in Beavertown, Union Co., PA, daughter of Ephriam Swanger. She died in Milan in 1906. According to the 1870 Census, James Graham was born c1834 in PA, but the county is not mentioned. He apparently predeceased Savinia, but I have not been able to find a record of his date of death or any information about who his parents were. He may have had a sister, Elizabeth Graham and a brother John Graham and his mother's given name may have been Catherine.

My grandmother always said her father was Scotch-Irish. Today I found a record of the death of Robert Graham, born c1805 in Co. Derry, Ireland, died Nov. 21, 1890 in Sullivan Co. MO. Does anyone know if this Robert Graham immigrated to Pennsylvania before moving to Missouri? His dob would be appropriate to be the father of James Steven Graham.

I'm grasping at straws because I have hit a brick wall regarding James Steven Graham. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
