My mother-in-law was born Jan 19, 1944 and was adopted June 1944 By Nettie and Leonard Patterson (Englewood, Colorado). She was born in Greeley Colorado and we were told her real name was Elinor Henderson. Mother was a student at UNC or CSU and father was a naturalized Freench man who fought in WWII.
