I am a descendent of the Davidson family that lived at 54 Quay Street in
Saltcoats. My grandfather, Archibald Davidson, was born to Allan Davidson
and Mary Christie Davidson in 1906 and moved to the property around 1908
from New Cumnock. Archibald was the dux boy at the local school as listed
in the school record books for 1920 at the Androssen library. I found this
out on my last visit in 2001.

He had 10 brother and sisters. They were Robert, James, John, Joseph, Allan,
Thomas, William and Mary. He had another brother, Archibald, that died in
1903. I understand that the house was torn down after 1950 and we have no
further records.
