I've been using the Newspapers.com site to search names. When you put Garman in their search engine it comes up 153K+ hits nationwide. Pennsylvania is ~82K of those hits. The earliest in the Philadelphia paper is a John Garman, Master of the ship Charleston in 1786. My husband’s entry in is on the Jacob(early 1800s?) -Michael-Daniel-Michael Franklin chain. Mostly in Indiana and Cambria Counties (and all the county changes that have occurred) His cousin also has a copy of an William Garman in the Revolutionary War. Also he has a reference to a John P Garman, brother of Jacob.
Question I have is if John Garman, Master fits in the chain. And where does William fit if at all?
