Just a quick note to any descendants of Stephen Keast SWEET and Minnie ALT of Otsego Co, who may stumble across this message board:
We will be holding the FIRST SWEET REUNION in Oneonta, Otsego Co., NY, hopefully on the weekend of July 21, 22, 23, 2006, for the Descendants of Steve & Minnie.
Stephen was from Cornwall, England, immigrated to IOWA in 1884. Minnie's family had been in Iowa since 1839, and in the country before 1770.
Steve & Minnie came to OTSEGO CO. in 1919, after running farms in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and bought "one of the finest old hop farms in the county," called the old Charles Colburn farm. This was located on DUTCH HILL RD, at or near the intersection with EDSON CORNERS RD (now CR 44?)
