While I was researching the Coolidge family I ran across the following Sherer. William is listed as living with the Orlando Coolidge family in Howard, Winnebago Co., Ill during the 1850 federal census. Household 48-50.

Coolidge, Orlando (Head) age 56 Cooper b. Mass
Coolidge, Martha W. (Wife) age 35 b. Maine
Coolidge, James (son) age 7 b. Illinois
Coolidge, Charles (son) age 2 b. Illinois
Sherer, William (border) age 22 laborer b. VT
